INV: How to Invoice a Deposit using the calendar

OVERVIEW:

At times you may want to charge a DEPOSIT for work that is meant to start at a future date.

You can ADD these DEPOSITS work types via the PRE-INVOICING or the CALENDAR.

You can add the deposits via Calendar or Pre-Invoicing however depending on the configuration of the Deposit Work type they may NOT show on the Calendar. You may need to speak to Support if you want this to occur.

There are a couple of DEPOSIT scenarios.

100% Deposit: The video below explains how you can set up an Activity in the Calendar or in Pre-Invoicing to capture the activity work type called DEPOSIT for invoicing 100% of the charges upfront.
Partial % Deposit then the remainder on Erect: The second approach is to only invoice a partial percentage of the work for a phase upfront and the remainder on erect.
Partial % Deposit then the remainder on Dismantle: The last approach is to charge the remaining % of the invoice charge on dismantle

100% Deposit Example

NB. Ensure the Products that you are billing have the % on Account set to 100%

Partial % and Remainder on ERECT

Follow similar steps as above but ensure the Product has the % of the deposit setup correctly (ie 60% ) then when you INVOICE the Erect it will charge the remaining 40% to the client

IMPORTANT ensure you put 100% in the DONE PERCENT as this relates to Hire NOT to the % to charge.

Partial % and Remainder on DISMANTLE

Follow similar steps as above BUT set the DONE % on the ERECT to 100% and then click DO NOT INVOICE , this is important as you want to START the HIRE but you do NOT want to charge the other 40% in this example. Then when you schedule the DISMANTLE you would put 100% in the DONE PERCENT which will bring the hire all down and also when you click INVOICE the remaining % will charge the client.

SETUP THE PRODUCTS:

Go to the Product List:
